Sabumal was a wealthy man from the town of Madeji. He had been suffering from an incurable fever for a long time and had spent a lot of money on medication, but nothing worked. As a result, his health and business both declined. He was left with no money and no one visited him anymore, as people thought he might ask them for help.

One day, while he was standing in the market, a friend asked him why he hadn’t been seen around. Sabumal replied, “Dear friend, it’s all my bad luck.” His friend advised him to go meet Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib, who was known to change people’s fortunes with his blessings. He told Sabumal that a glimpse of Saijan would change his fate and cure his illness.

Excited at the prospect of meeting Sant Satramdas Sahib, Sabumal couldn’t sleep that night and kept chanting “Sacho Satram, Sacho Satram.” He went to the station early in the morning, eager to see Sant Satramdas Sahib. When the train arrived, Sabumal went to Shahanshah Satguru Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib and fell at his feet, asking him to take away his fever.

Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib replied, “Even if you had not asked me to, I would have blessed you, but now that you have asked me to take your fever, I will have to do so for myself. I am grateful to the Lord that he has given me this duty through you. From now on, you will not be troubled by this incurable fever, but I will bear it.” Sabumal felt guilty for asking this and Saint Satramdas Sahib explained it as blessing by the God on him.

After that day, Sabumal never had the fever again, but Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib took it upon himself.

Sacho Satram.
