Sant Sai Kanwarram Sahib once went to the well during the early morning hours, also known as Amrit vela, to fetch water for visitors and devotees at Sant Satram Dham. He encountered a Fakir (beggar) sitting there and respectfully greeted him before collecting the water.

The Fakir at the well was pleased when Sant Kanwarram Sahib showed him respect, which caused the Fakir’s ego to grow. In a stern tone, the Fakir demanded that he be served first due to his immense knowledge and strength. He claimed to possess magical powers and threatened those who challenged him with burning them to ashes. Despite the Fakir’s demands, Sant Kanwarram Sahib respectfully declined and instead asked for the Fakir’s blessings and prayers to continue serving his Satguru, Sant Sai Satramdas Sahib, whose glory is known throughout the universe.
According to my Satguru, we must share what God has given us with everyone and spread happiness. We should serve all living beings and help each other, and serving my Satguru is like serving God. Upon hearing this, the Fakir became angry and demanded that Sant Kanwarram Sahib sing a raag for him. He threatened to block Sant Kanwarram Sahib’s throat with his magical powers if he didn’t comply, despite the belief that serving his Satguru is more important to him than the Fakir’s demand.
Sant Kanwarram Sahib asked the Fakir to let him go and serve at Sant Satram Dham. He promised to return to fulfill the Fakir’s wish after serving his Satguru. However, the Fakir insisted that his wish must be fulfilled first and demanded that Sant Kanwarram Sahib sing a raag for him. He threatened to curse him if he didn’t comply.
Despite Sant Kanwarram Sahib explaining that serving at his Satguru’s Dham is his duty, the Fakir became angry and cursed him, saying that no power in the world could change it. As he left, Sant Kanwarram Sahib picked up the clay pots filled with drinking water and continued to Sant Satram Dham, only to discover that his throat had become blocked. After finishing his service, he sat at the feet of Shehenshah Satguru Sant Sai Satramdas Saheb, contemplating the curse that had been placed upon him.

After his meditation, Sant Satramdas Saheb smiled at Sant Kanwaram Saheb and said, “Kanwar, anyone who tries to stop another from doing selfless service brings a stop to their own life. Jealousy burns the jealous person, and they never prosper. However, a selfless devotee, who serves with faith, remains happy and always prospers. My son, a true devotee keeps jealousy, anger, and ego away, and regards everyone as equal with love and kindness.”

Satguru Sant Satram Das Saheb, asked Kanwarram Saheb to sing, and now when Kanwar ram Sahib started singing, he could sing, even more clearly, and more beautifully, his voice was filled with the compassion and blessings, of his highly revered Satguru.
The Fakir who had cursed, Sant Kanwarram Saheb got stung by a poisonous snake, and he died a very painful death.
From this, we get to learn, that since selfless service/ seva, is like a temple, where a person finds GOD, and the one who tries to interrupt such a seva, gets destroyed. So let us come together and participate in the selfless seva at every Sant Satram Dham.

Sacho Satram.
