Once Sai Satramdas Sahib went to Jarwar, (village in Pakistan) the birth place of Bhagat Sahib for Bhajans and Kirtans and he noticed Bhagat Kanwar who was very small about 9 yrs of age and was selling kohar (boiled grams). Sain Satramdas sahib ji took some boiled grams “Kohar” from the kid Kanwar asked him about the money in exchange for it.
This charismatic little vendor having a deep insight of life humbly asked the highly revered Saint Sai Satramdas Sahib “If you wish to give me something in exchange of Kohar (boiled grams) then kindly accept me as your disciple and I beg for shelter at your lotus feet “.

On hearing this Saint Satramdas Sahib hugged Kanwarram and blessed him.

This was the first meeting of Bhagat Sahib with his Guruji Saint Satramdas Sahib. Bhagat Sahib always went from place to place to spread he name of his Guruji and he always sang in the praise of his master through the songs of Mira, Lord Krishna, Kabir and Shah Latif.

Bhagat Sahib was not only a spiritual divine singer but also a great spiritual Saint. He was a torch bearer of the teachings of his Guruji Saint Satramdas Sahib.
